Every morning while walking around the apartment complex I encounter all kinds of people. Dog walkers with their portly Labradors. The Security Guards getting ready for the change in their shift. Fellow walkers. Everyone silent and lost in their mechanical world of thoughts and wants, just like me.
For the past week or so I’ve been trying to incorporate the Buddhist practice of Metta during my walk. Wishing every single soul I walk by freedom from anger and enmity, wishing them happiness and all the positive energy possible, silently in my mind. This practice makes me so happy I had to share it. And the greater bit of happiness is they will never know I’m doing it. Please don’t tell them either:)
