At some point or the other all of us have been consciously ignored by a friend or a family member and we all remember the feeling of being shunned. It’s not a nice place to be at all.
Many people do it as a form of showing power or dominance, or worse as a form of punishment but some do it as a form of habit because they’re either too busy to pay attention to what the other person is saying or they’re just lost in their own thoughts.
Whatever the reasons may be for ignoring, few know that being ignored creates the same chemical reaction in the brain as being physically assaulted. Ouch. And according to the laws of Karma, you get what you give. So even if you have a thought of “let me purposely ignore this person”, somewhere you’re creating a karmic debt for yourself because sooner or later you may get hurt and wonder why that happened.
The day I learnt this fact I made it a conscious point to reply to every message I received or just make eye contact and nod with someone who may have said something to me during a busy moment. It only takes a second to turn to someone or say “not now” or whatever, and it does save a lot of pain, dont you agree?
