The new year is always a busy period of Tarot. And though most readings tend to be about career and love there are a few readings which touch a chord. Today I spoke to a 50 year old woman, a qualified doctor who was prevented from practice by her husband and in-laws because they wanted her to mind the home and children. And now that her children had grown up and her in laws had passed on, she felt worthless. As I heard the woman weep that she was too old to search for a job and yet she wanted to do something with her life – I had to put down the cards and just urge her to believe in herself, and do something. Even as a volunteer for a NGO, or part time in any of the upcoming hospitals in her city. Its never too late to make a difference, and if you have the qualifications, every small step you take can make a difference in someone else’s life, and in yours. I hope that the advice helped her find that inner spark in her.

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
– Barack Obama
