To receive a pearl during meditation is to receive divine love at its purest. Nothing more, nothing less. You are simply appreciated for who you are and what you do. Divinity loves us more than we can ever imagine.

inOne of my greatest teachers in this lifetime, and I suspect many more has been the Buddha. I wish I had known him when he walked this earth or at least got a glimpse of him in a crowd.
Many years ago I woke up from a dream where I met a slightly Asian looking man dressed in robes. I kept peering at his face in the dream, saying to myself how familiar he looked. When I did wake up, I realised I had seen the Buddha in my dream. Needless to say my whole day was made:)
There are a number of Tibetan Buddhist mantras I listen to and would love to share the one which touches me the most.
The Great Compassion Mantra
Namo Ratna Trayaya, Namo Arya Jnana Sagara, Vairochana, Byuhara Jara Tathagataya, Arahate, Samyaksam Buddhaya, Namo Sarwa Tathagate Bhyay, Arhata Bhyah, Samyaksam Buddhe Bhyah, Namo Arya Avalokite shoraya Bodhisattvaya, Maha Sattvaya, Maha Karunikaya, Tadyata, Om Dara Dara, Diri Diri, Duru Duru Itte We, Itte Chale Chale, Purachale Purachale, Kusume Kusuma Wa Re, Ili Milli, Chiti Jvalam, Apanaye Shoha

If that flight to Delhi had not been delayed in 1998 I would never have picked up my first book by Deepak Chopra entitled “The Path to Love”. He simplified and expressed the wisdom of the Ancient sages in a way that was so engaging and empowering. I understood everything he said. And for the next few hours till my flight I didn’t realise I was on board to a new destination altogether. A destination inside myself.
Two years later in 2000 I was at the airport again, this time in a queue to board a flight to Singapore. There was a sudden shift of energy when a middle aged man strode past me purposefully, dressed in grey with the most intent expression. It was Deepak Chopra boarding the same flight as I was. His energy was electric and had the air of a man compelled to teach as many people about themselves as he possibly could. One of his tools his gratitude. And I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to this amazing man. Thank you 🙂 May you remain blessed:)

inThe Magician strode past the crowd and climbed up on stage. He gestured with his Selenite wand to the crowd to ask him any question.
One man raised his hand. From his expression you could see the bitterness of age had begun to creep in and settle on the lines of his face, the remnants of frustration that linger after you give up on your dream. He spoke.
“Everybody’s doing well but me. People I trained have surpassed me. Even my younger cousins with start ups are getting successful. Why am I left behind?”
The crowd edged forward eagerly to listen to the Magician respond.
Instead the magnetic man on stage simply laughed and twirled his selenite wand like a baton. Bits of light radiated from the crystal.
With great flourish, the Magician leaned forward as if to whisper a secret.
“So what are you doing about things then?”
The man mumbled “I don’t know. Nothing I guess. All I know is I’m not getting paid enough by my company.”
The Magician smiled to himself.
“If you don’t do anything but complain, you’re not going to get anything are you?”
The man’s faced began to crumple like a baby before a meltdown. The Magician’s tone softened.
“Decide on what you want. Decide why you should get. And then go to your bosses for a raise. You will get it “
The crowd cheered. The Magician swished his wand around flamboyantly in the air and the shimmering lights descended on the people. He twirled in his cape and disappeared. A song began to play on stage while the sparkle dust danced for the audience.
“You can do magic
You can have anything that you desire” – America 1982
Is he an illusionist or a trickster? A glib showman or a wise old wizard? In whatever form we choose to see the Magician card in the Tarot he comes to remind us that we have to manifest our own destiny.

inIt was 7 pm. Her friend and her Dad had come to pick her up. She walked down the stairs in her new jeans and a touch of eyeshadow. She’d saved up for weeks to buy it and tonight’s party was the reason why. As she reached the door, her mother stopped her
“What’s that on your eyes?”
From the tone of her voice she knew her mother didn’t approve.
“What will people say?”
A dense grey fog of guilt descended on her. Make up, short skirts, large necklines, smoking, laughing out loud were the marks of a “bad girl”. The kind of girl the neighbour’s would nudge and stare at. Who’d never find a good match to marry. Who’d bring her family shame. The voices in her head were suddenly silenced.
“I don’t know. I won’t be listening” she replied and waved out to the car that was at the gate.

As we get older we realise that some things are just not meant to be. Some friendships were meant to fizzle out. Some dreams didn’t happen. Some wounds just didn’t heal. And some desires would remain unfulfilled. Acceptance is never easy and no one ever said it would be. But there does come a moment in all our lives when we have no choice but to shrug our shoulders and carry on. Only with acceptance can recovery and positive change begin. And the best thing to do while it’s raining, is to let it rain.

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business.
Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together.
He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you..”
The young executives were shocked, but the boss continued. “I am going to give each one of you a SEED today – one very special SEED… I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO.”
One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Everyday, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.
Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.
Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing.
By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn’t have a plant and he felt like a failure.
Six months went by — still nothing in Jim’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Jim didn’t say anything to his colleagues, however.
He just kept watering and fertilizing the soil – He so wanted the seed to grow.
A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection.
Jim told his wife that he wasn’t going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful — in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him!
When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives.
Jim just tried to hide in the back. “My, what great plants, trees, and flowers you have grown,” said the CEO. “Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!”
All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified. He thought, “The CEO knows I’m a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!”
When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed – Jim told him the story.
The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, “Behold your next Chief Executive Officer!
His name is Jim!” Jim couldn’t believe it. Jim couldn’t even grow his seed.
“How could he be the new CEO?” the others said.
Then the CEO said, “One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead – it was not possible for them to grow.
All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!”
* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust
* If you plant goodness, you will reap friends
* If you plant humility, you will reap greatness
* If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment
* If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective
* If you plant hard work, you will reap success
* If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation
* If you plant faith in God, you will reap a harvest
So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.
