The other day while speaking with my father about something we heard on social media, he remarked that a news item was fake. When I asked him how he knew, he said “the truth feels different” and he was right. We all have the capacity to discern lies from the truth, to know our own inner truth, and to experience a different freedom and lightness when we express ourselves honestly and directly. Truth has a once and for all vibe to it. Once you experience it or utter words of truth, there is no need to remember. With lies, the story changes while acts of dishonesty need to be remembered. And if that’s not bad enough more lies are usually required to covered one lie. While with the truth, there it is, in all its purity. No explanation needed.
This week go inwards and encounter your own inner truth, befriend your uniqueness and embrace your originality. Discover your own authentic voice and vocalise your thoughts, concerns and intentions. You may discover a few truths about yourself, or spot situations where you may be conning your own self. Someone’s roundabout way of talking indirectly or evasively may show a side of them you’ve never seen before. Or you discover why someone may be avoiding you for fear of being caught. Or you gain deeper respect for someone who’s sticking by their words despite the critique.
