We’ve all been badly hurt at some point in our lives. By our own family members, inlaws, friends, coworkers and we all know what the energy feels like. It stays deep in our hearts like a painful memory tucked away. And resurfaces time and time again. But what we don’t realise is that the energy turns toxic inside us. The wound festers, and blocks us from allowing to grow and usher in positivity in our lives. And only through forgiveness can we detox our own selves and move forward in a whole new way. Forgiving the other, forgiving ourselves.
Forgiveness takes time, sometimes it happens all by itself, sometimes it requires conscious inner work and sometimes the help of a counsellor or guide to get us past the stored resentment and pain in our hearts. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what they did to you was okay, it means for your own peace of mind, and for your own growth, you need to let the anger go.
Forgiveness does not necessarily mean things will be hunky dory either. You can choose to forgive someone for their hurtful words but have no desire to have them back in your life. And the beauty of it is, that you think you’ve set them free, but actually, it is you who is free and ready to move to a better place mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
“It’s not an easy journey, to get to a place where you forgive people. But it is such a powerful place, because it frees you.”
Wishing you a week of peace and freedom.
