The whole concept of mindfulness is living in the now, being more aware of what is around us and within us. Present moment awareness has been proven to decrease stress, lower blood pressure and boost happiness as we have control over our thoughts. There is a discipline to it, a certain process which allows our bodies to relax, release, accept and enjoy what is around us now.
The Tarot too, although created over 700 years ago is based on the very present moment we are living in now. Though questions can be answered about the past or the future, it is the now that where the shift of focus takes place and empowerment begins. Rather than asking “what will be” make it “what do I need to know right now?” That’s where the true power lies.
If there’s one thing I’ve learnt from the Tarot over 20 years of practice is that when I’m in the present moment, I’m happier, calmer, more receptive to learning and more appreciative of all the blessings I already have in life right now rather than thinking about regrets .
